Thought for today – So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you – to love the Lord your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, then I will rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain. I will provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied. (Deuteronomy 11:13-15)

Prayer for today – Father, we thank you for your promises of comfort, love, hope, and peace. We give you thanks for all the blessings you bestow upon those who follow your commands. For those who struggle to follow your commands, we pray for them this day. Amen

Pray for our military at home and far from home. Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands; protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us.

Pray for our City, for our Police Department, Fire Department and the safety of all residents. Pray for the upcoming Presidential election.

Pray for those who are sick, preparing for surgery, recovering from surgery, those dealing with depression and loneliness and for those who are in nursing homes. Pray for those who grieve the loss of a loved one. Pray for our church members who are shut-in at home with illness and cannot physically be with us for worship. Take a moment and send a shut-in a note or make a phone call to let them know you are thinking of them and you miss their presence with us at Olivet. Pray for missionaries throughout the world.

Pray for college students who are away from home. Pray for children and young adults who are attending school, Pray for teachers, administrators and all in the school system that will teach and guide our students. Pray for children around the world that they might have the opportunity to hear about Jesus.
