Bicentennial Celebration Weekend is Coming!
On the weekend of October 6 - 8th 2017, Olivet UMC will celebrate 200 years of Methodism in Coatesville. From the humble beginning as the Methodist Society, which met in a rented school house at the corner of 3rd Avenue and Harmony Street, to our present location at 3rd Avenue and Chestnut Street, Olivet has played a significant role in doing God’s work in the community of Coatesville and beyond.
Pastor Johnson E. Dodla has now joined a long line of spiritual leaders to minister to the generations of the faithful at Olivet. God has blessed us with many excellent pastors over the past 200 years and Olivet has sent numerous sons and daughters to serve God in various capacities around the world.
Some of the activities allow members and friends of Olivet to participate directly in celebrating the “Generations of Faith” here at Olivet while others provide the opportunity to purchase of limited editions of mementos of this special occasion. Click the links for more information!

“Project 200” is an initiative of the Bicentennial Committee celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the founding of Olivet in Coatesville. The purpose is to begin to raise funds to replace the carpet in the sanctuary. The current carpet was installed in the 1960’s and is showing increasing signs of wear.
Plastic containers were distributed on Sunday, April 2. Additional containers are available in the Garden Room. All members and friends of Olivet are encouraged to fill the container with 200 of any monetary denomination of their choice i.e. 200 dimes, 200 quarters, 200 $5 dollar bills, etc.
The containers will be collected on Sunday, September 24, 2017 during the worship service. In order for you to receive credit toward your annual giving, you should mark the container with your name or envelope number and the amount collected.
Please join in this tangible way to celebrate our “Generations of Faith” here at Olivet.
